Ceramic pottery, sculpture and tiles decorated with glazes that melt to “fit” each piece with a protective and decorative glass skin.

These glazes most commonly melt at 2350 degrees F (or cone 10), but there is an emerging class of glazes that provide the durability and beauty of cone 10 glazes that melt at a lower temperature, 2232, or cone 6 (mid-fire glazes).

Mid-fire glazes provide significant benefits in studio practice and in reducing the environmental impact of firing electric and gas kilns.

This exhibit is a collaborative effort to celebrate cone 6 clays and glazes, to demonstrate their beauty and functionality, and help to embrace the ideals of environmental preservation.
